Wash After Each Wear
Even if you don't go in the water, sand, sunscreen and your body's natural oils can still wear down your bikini. Extend the life of the fabric by making sure to wash your suit after every wear.
Sure, it's much easier to just toss your suit in the washing machine (we're all guilty of this) but trust us it's worth taking the time to hand wash! Our bikini washing formula: combine cold water + a capful of gentle laundry detergent. Let soak for 5-10 minutes then rinse. We promise this will do wonders to your bikini fabric!
Avoid loosening fabric by aggressively wringing out wet suits or drying them on rough surfaces. There's nothing worse than saggy bikini butt!
Don't Dry in Direct Sunlight
If you're drying your swimsuits outside, stay away from hanging them in direct sunlight. Drying in the sun too long can cause discoloring, and no one wants to wear a faded bikini (yuck)!
Stay Away from Heat
Never (we repeat, never) iron or throw your suits in the dryer! Just like sunlight, too much heat can cause fading or even worse damage to the fabric. Always opt for hang drying to prolong the life of your bikinis.
If you’re a bikini addict like us, we’re always thinking of new ways to incorporate our favorite swim pieces into our everyday wardrobe. Here at L*Space, we believe there’s more to a bikini and when styled with the right basics & accessories you can easily transform your wardrobe.
Here’s a look at 3 ways to wear some of our favorite L*Space Bikini Tops beyond the beach:
Looking for a bikini top that works double duty for your 4 o’clock barre class? You’ll love our Stacy Top, Haute Tank & Lively Top. Besides the pizza you plan to consume after class, you might actually look forward to breaking a sweat.
We LOVE our Jaime top for oh-so-many reasons (just like this one) but perhaps one of our favorite reasons we love this top so much the versatility in and out of the water. The criss-cross strapping makes for a perfect layering piece underneath your favorite tanks & tees. Can’t figure out what to wear with that dress with the plunging v-neckline neckline? We’ll let you do the guessing…
key to nailing this look is to make it look like you’re not wearing a swimsuit
(we promise it’s easier than it sounds!) For this look, keep it simple. Let the
body suit be the focal point + add basic piece.
We suggest pairing it with a pair of high-waisted shorts for a casual
daytime look or with a tight fitted pencil skirt or ankle cropped denim for an
evening look. Our go-to picks for this look: Maniac One Piece, Wild Side One Piece & Moda One Piece.
If you’re currently craving salty & sun-drenched summer days… you’re not alone. With beach weather just around the corner, here’s a fun DIY you’ll use for all the lazy days you’ll spend beach-bummin'.
Before achieving total beach bum status, here’s what you’ll need:
- Beach Towels (we suggest picking darker & bright colors as they seem to bleach the best)
- Spray Bottle
- Foam Brush
- Rubber Gloves
- Stencils (or if you’re feeling extra crafty you can make your own)
Decide on the phrases you want your towel to say! We scrolled through our Pinterest page to get some ideas.
Mix a solution of half water & half bleach in your spray bottle. Lay out your towel in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside.
Using your stencils lay out your desired phrase on the towel. Keep in mind to leave a little bit of space in between each letter as the bleach tends to ‘bleed’.
Using your bleach solution you made in your spray bottle, dip your foam brush into the solution & lightly dab over your stencil. You’ll notice the letters will begin the bleach & begin to turn white.
Move to the next letter & repeat until you finish your word/phrase.
Once all of your letters are bleached to your liking, take your towel to a bathtub or sink & wash out the bleach. Go ahead & toss your towels in the washer to remove the bleach smell. Air dry them on a clothes line (or in our case…this bamboo fence!)
Pack a bag + take your towel to the beach! Don’t forget to bring your favorite bikini with you!
