Behind the Design: Afterglow

There’s something magical about the final days of summer. The pace slows, the light turns golden, and every sunset seems to linger just a little longer. That feeling became the inspiration behind Afterglow, our September collection, and the final chapter of the season.
Shot against the vibrant backdrop of Rio de Janeiro, Afterglow captures the warm, seductive energy between summer and fall. It's sun-drenched, effortless, and undeniably sexy, but with the elevated sophistication that defines LSPACE. We wanted the collection to feel like the memory of a perfect vacation: hazy, beautiful, and impossible to forget.
Color played a central role in bringing this story to life. Rich terracottas, burnt oranges, warm reds, earthy greens, and soft ocean blues reflect the colors of a tropical sunset as it fades into evening. The palette feels bold and confident while still remaining timeless, creating pieces that feel just as relevant for a late-season getaway as they do for a holiday escape.
One of my favorite elements of this collection is our use of placed prints across both swim and apparel. Thoughtfully engineered to flatter the body and highlight the design details, these prints bring an elevated, fashion-forward feel to the collection. Inspired by vintage tropical motifs and warm destination dressing, they create statement-making pieces that still feel effortless to wear.
Another standout for me is our Shell Press texture. This fabric perfectly captures the essence of Afterglow: luxurious, tactile, and incredibly flattering. The subtle texture adds dimension while maintaining the clean, polished look that LSPACE is known for. It's the kind of swim fabric that instantly feels special the moment you put it on.
Throughout the collection, we focused on creating silhouettes that feel confident, feminine, and versatile. From barely-there bikinis and sleek one-pieces to breezy resort separates, every piece was designed to move seamlessly from poolside afternoons to sunset cocktails. The result is a wardrobe that feels relaxed yet refined, sensual yet sophisticated.
For me, Afterglow is about holding on to summer's most beautiful moments. It's the warmth on your skin after a day in the sun, the glow of golden hour reflected on the water, and the feeling that the best part of the evening is still ahead.
